forever.

i am completely blown away right now. i woke up from a nap. checked my bandcamp stats and noticed a crazy spike in the amount of plays. someone had embedded a track on their site and followed it to an extensive review of my music up on bandcamp. it is so ridiculously surreal for me considering i’m doing nothing to try to be found. (thanks heaps, sad panda!) so i just made a facebook page for myself and have decided to go in half full swing with this, hah.

i’ve been doing some hand written type this afternoon at work, pen straight to paper.. and after making a mistake, i reached for the keyboard to make the ‘undo’ keystroke. but. yeah. that didn’t work.

summertime feels like it just arrived in LA.. but it’s more than halfway over and on its way out the door. i had a late ice cream sandwich after work last night with a good friend of mine. we ate our drug store ice creams in the parking lot sitting on one of those concrete bumpers like professional high school kids. except with careers and our own apartments. it felt awesome.

he said, “mk.”
i said, “yes?”
he said, “life is great.”
i said, “oh, i know it.”

and we kept eating our ice creams.

this morning i got a swooky ghost submission from ish in the good ‘ole inbox. but in addition to that goodness, he wrote and recorded two songs using my google buzz posts. wow. hahah. so i added on to it and i am sharing with the internets to say that we are good friends that make music together despite america being between us.

cloud control is definitely one of my favorite bands this summer. posted about them a while ago. but forreals now.. get their album. swish it around good in your mouth. they need to come to the US. one more video behind the cut.

i actually filled an entire book, which rarely ever happens. it’s 1.5″ thick, quadruled, and very brown on the edges, hahah. the story is about some weird girl living in berkeley trying to find work and life post university. she moves to la after landing a job there. she meets weird lovable characters whilst surviving the streets of hollywood. that’s the jist. lots of laughing, learning, crying.. you know. drama, romance, comedy.. not so action packed, but there are musical numbers…
