here’s a promotional poster i did for the boys of youth cattle in orange county. if you come out this friday, i’ll be the one scatting all the lead guitar parts.

the ever lovely sarah bocket of bocket store fame asked me to compose a score for her silent film ‘it’s that simple!’ featuring her hand-dotted thrift store bowls that are touring at craft fairs across the country. my process? something like taking a short nap, waking up at midnight and just pounding away at the piano til i’m delirious, hahah.

my little entry for R&R’s cheese show. R&R’s one and only mark yamamoto (aka Kube) approached me to see if i wanted to submit something to their cheese themed show, et voila. the only person i got to speak to that night happened to be the dude that purchased it. he had no idea he was talking to the artist, and i didn’t fess up — too much fun being anonymous. but he said, “the one thing i want to know is.. what do all those notches mean?” uhh. secret?

i designed two posters for an anti-mining campaign on tablas island, the island smack dab in the middle of the philippines. yah, i’m an environmentalist, but even more pressing is that it’s where my parents were born and raised — it’s where i came from. a canadian mining company wants to start mining on the island, but there are some crazy adverse environmental effects that are too awful to imagine happening (air/land/water pollution, acid mine drainage, dramatic change in landscape resulting in landslides, habitat loss, etc). if the mining company can be stopped in this small island, it can potentially enable the rest of the philippines to stand up against exploitation and do what’s right.
